Crystalia is quite strong-minded but prefers to put all her skills into her wand rather than a quill. She usually ignores Muggleborn witches or wizards as she believes herself and all purebloods to be above them. She is best described as being very stubborn, confident, determined and sometimes rather blunt. But Crys is also rather cunning and has a strong sense of ambition. She has an attitude of course, one people tend to both love and hate, but Crystalia doesn’t really care what people think unless it’s from her closest friends. She is surprisingly laid-back as stress and worry just annoy her. She is a very smug and self-righteous person but Crys really does like to be in charge and to have control over situations or sometimes even people. Having grown up in a wealthy Spanish family, she understands the importance of using influence and means to dominate and does not see herself has having many limits. Sometimes she comes off as being arrogant or deceptive but it’s actually because she is such an outspoken and confident person, plus she refuses to just put up with people. If something or someone bothers her, she is more than likely to take a stand. Sarcasm is practically her natural tone of voice.

Crystalia is the only child of a strong Spanish pureblood family. While they are very proud of being Spanish, De La Rosa family moved to UK shortly after Crystalia had been born. Her father, Diego de la Rosa, is well known hit wizard and has a reputation of being strong and powerful. Her mother, Estrella, comes from a powerful Spanish pureblood line as well and had been betrothed to Diego at an early age. Crystalia was raised with impeccable manners and is pressured by her family to excel and not disapppoint/tarnish the family name.
While her father wanted a son to carry on the family legacy, her mother had always wanted a daughter and was very smothering at times. In earlier years, Crystal often recieved letters from home that were warm coming from her mother, yet scathing from her father if she caught doing anything other than what he sent her to school for--perfecting her magic and finding a suitable (aka pureblood) wizard to begin her future with. Her parents instilled the rule "anything less than perfection is unacceptable" as a child, and Crystalia strives to keep up with the high expectations put upon her.
At the end of her fourth year, Crystal's mother disappeared mysteriously, and since then her father has been nearly unbearable now that his wife isn't around to placate him. AHe has gone from strictly wanting Crystalia to do the best and be the best to introducing her to dark arts and wanting her to follow in his dark magic footsteps. In response to his overbearing and strict rules, Crystal has pushed back and is testing her boundaries with him by trying to branch out and make new friends and have a bit of fun. A light during the dark summers is her cousin, turned honorary brother, Hector, who is apprenticing for Transfiguration Mastery in Brazil. They do not see each other often, but he makes it more bearable. Crystalia is certain Hector is the only one who understands her, because he was there where everything major for her was going on and helped her to calm down after she accidentaly hit her mother with a pan using magi, because Estrella refused to make Crystal pancakes when she was six years old.
That year, being six, was just full of horrible things for her, and was sure that the Fates were out to get her. After showing this first trace of magic at the beginning of the year, Crystalia's father started to force her to learn everythign about purebloods there was to be. Around April, Crystal had had enough and ran into the horse and hippogriff stables her family owned. Blind with tears, Crystalia didn't notice that she knocked over a flaming torch and hid with one of the mares, falling asleep with exhaustion. Neighing horses woke her up, and she saw that the whole barn was filled with smoke and fire. She was frozen with fear and couldn't move. When fire started to burn her legs, Crystalia woke up from her frozen state and escaped with severe burns and breathing troubles. She was immediately taken to St. Mungo's where she was fully healed and not a scar remained. However, her phobic fear of fire will follow her until the end of her life.
For her seventh birthday, the family took a trip to Spain and shortly after, America, Salem to be exact. Crystalia got reckless and parted away from her parents, going into the equivalent of Knockturn Alley. Quite a few American wizards tried to kidnap her and told her what unfortunate things kids could get in Salem and America, but luckily, her father saved her just in time. Crystalia was appalled that no American tried to help a child in need, and even turned a blind eye to it. Since then, Crys disliked Americans and was distrustful of them.
She isn't sure if she will be a light or a dark witch yet, and while she has been taught a bit of dark magic it still makes her a bit uneasy, although she'd never admit it to anyone.
Now, in her sixth year, Crystalia is struggling to be the proper pureblood heiress that she has been groomed and conditioned to become while trying to decide who she really is and what she really wants from life. [/size]

Crystalia left defense in no hurry, not really thinking much on the class. It had provided useful spells but she just wanted to sleep at this point. However she had received an invitation to a social events and not attending would be an extremely rude gesture unless someone was dying, which she wasn't. So she got dressed in a formal gown and went to the designated room, wondering what this event would be all about. With Slytherins, there was always an ulterior motive, no matter how small.

Walking in, Crys took note of the room and its inhabitants. She immediately spotted her cousin, then noticed Avalaris away from the group talking to what seemed like a house elf. She couldn't help but wonder just how much thought Avalaris put into this party. It had just the right amount of fancy, too much for her likes. Walking over to the group, Crystalia bowed slightly, not bothering to write out a greeting. If anyone commented on it, well they were fools for assuming she could say a greeting at all. Besides, in her culture, bowing was quite enough as a greeting and didn't need words.

Crystalia nodded to her cousin, wondering who else would arrive. She doubted she would see Elise here seeing as she wasn't exactly favored among purebloods or Slytherins. But there were people like Patricia DeCour who was at least greeted by Slytherins. [/size]
